EPLAN employs about 70 research and development engineers and runs a call centre staffed by senior experts who respond to more than 19,500 customers worldwide. It also maintains the EPLAN Data Portal, a comprehensive and automated database of components that allows 65,000 EPLAN users to easily search and download component data from the most popular suppliers.
Showcasing its latest breakthrough at the Hannover Fair this year, EPLAN launched EPLAN Pro Panel, a 3D panel design tool for easy-touse, accurate and rapid creation of electrical schematic diagrams.
''Our philosophy is to be very open for integration to other systems so that customers can work with a seamless process,'' Brandl says. ''Only when we provide such integration services do we add the most value for customers.'' EPLAN expects the integration trend to accelerate in Asia, where it operates centres of competence in India, South Korea, Malaysia and on the mainland for localized training of customers, sales staff and partners.
Ranking the mainland among its top three markets along with Germany and the United States, EPLAN is almost doubling its local workforce this year and adding capacity for integration and data management. It aims to develop the mainland as a services hub for nearby countries in the future, and become the market leader in Asia within the next five years.
